Mercury nominee Lianne La Havas to play intimate Rampworx show
LIANNE La Havas will headline the third leg of the Lumia Live Sessions. The Mercury Award nominated star will perform to a crowd of 200 guests at Rampworx indoor skate park next Thursday.
"I'll be playing songs from my debut album as well as some covers, some new ones we've just introduced too," says Lianne. "Expect some cheeky crowd participation too."
She's looking forward to being in Liverpool for the show - and to trying some of Liverpool's cuisine.
"I'm still new to the city, although I do remember going to the top of the Radio City tower on my first radio promo trip and being amazed how beautiful the city looked from up there," she says. "I'm a bit of a foodie, so I love finding new cafes and restaurants when I'm here."
But don't expect to see her in the city's takeaways after the show. "Recently the band and I have been on a bit of a health flex on tour, so we have lots of healthy food, fruit, juices and smoothies, herbal teas, but then also we always have whiskey, calms pre-show nerves and post show celebration," she says.
Liverpool has a reputation for the best audiences, but where else is always a good crowd?
"It really varies, I've had some incredible audiences all over the globe," she says. "One of my best recently was in Washington DC, the show was out of this world, there was such an energy in the room we were almost in tears on stage. There's nothing better than an amazing energy from an audience."
"In general shows have the same setlist, a few songs chop and change, and we may change up the cover/s we do. Playing Age though always seems to put a smile on my face."
