Besides being an idol for Kurt Cobain, Calvin's music has inspired people such as The Gossip and Beck. He is considered to be one of the instigators of the Riot Grrrl movement.

He'll be playing alongside Dirtblonde, The 10p Mixes and Tiger Lily tonight (Friday August 1) at St. Bride's Church. Doors open 7pm, £3 entry. 14+ event. There's no bar so bring your own drinks. For more info see www.myspace.com/liverpoolcalling.
