Today we've got reviews of the latest offerings from Goldfrapp, Badly Drawn Boy, Richard Hawley and Sheryl Crow. Read on and leave your views...

Goldfrapp – A&E
5/5
Electro glam pop pair Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory return after too long away with this first single from their new album Seventh Tree.
Stripped back instrumentals allow Goldfrapp’s open heart lyrics and ethereal vocals to take centre stage and weave a fantasy of broken hearts and broken dreams. It’s beautiful thing.
Dawn Collinson

Richard Hawley – Valentine
3/5

Slightly mournful little number just in time for Valentine’s Day. Instant nostalgia from cooler than cool exponent of fifties/sixties style ballads, Richard Hawley. Valentine is not a copy of the songs of the greats of that era, such as Billy Fury and Roy Orbison, but it is nonetheless infused with their brand of sweet melancholy, and gets right under your skin. Grace Tiede

Badly Drawn Boy - The Time of Times
4/5

Superb song from Chorlton – cum – Hardy’s finest. Badly Drawn Boy are so underrated, it beggars belief… Time after time, they make great songs, yet so many people don’t see beyond Damon Gough’s funny hat. Captivating, in words and in music, this is a fabulous song, which will have you dancing around, singing along every time you hear it.
Rikki Wright

Sheryl Crow – Love is Free
2/5

A little bit poppy, a little bit rocky, a little bit country and a whole lot boring irrelevant waste of ear power. As Vic and Bob used to say…’Very poor!’
Jessie Allison
