Hold on to your skinny- fit jeans, The Rascals are back in town.
In the first of their three gigs in town this week, Wirral's latest legends in waiting popped into Radio Merseyside for a studio session to mark the beginning of Liverpool Music Week.
And the results were something special.
Like a shot to the senses, the cheeky rapscallions packed 10 invigorating songs into a half-hour set, kicking off with the superb Ratcatcher.
Singer and guitarist Miles Kane, a natural frontman, showed off youthful confidence, soaring vocals and some particularly tight black jeans.
Similarly, as they moved onto How Do I End This, Out of Dreams and Bond Girl, Joe Edwards (bass) and Greg Mighall (drums) demonstrated a guileless, irresistible energy.
The highlights of the set were Shades of Embarrassment and I'll Give You Sympathy, their most refreshing and indecently exciting song to date.
If you missed the show, it will be featured on Radio Merseyside this Sunday, on Dave Monks' show from 8-10pm.
It's the latest in a series of studio sessions by some of Merseyside's best up and coming bands, which will continue this Friday with The Maybes? and in the weeks to come with The Dead 60s and Amsterdam.
The Rascals are three mates who stumbled bleary-eyed out of Wirral a few years back, falling along the way into Scouse super-group The Little Flames.
In between touring and recording, the trio found time to make their own music, but it wasn't until this Summer that the lads stepped out into the limelight as a band in their own right.
So far, the cards seem pretty neatly stacked in their favour.
They've already got a heap of first-rate songs, an abundance of raw energy and have clearly had a merry old time putting together Out of Dreams, their debut EP.
As well as their Liverpool dates this week, they're also headlining gigs in London and Birmingham, before catching up with old mates Arctic Monkeys for a series of support slots, beginning on Saturday.
The future, it seems, is theirs for the taking.
