In the second of our season of festive songs discussed by great local musicians, we have Merseyside singer/songwriter and advocate for all things musical Alun Parry talking about his favourite Christmas song - John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War Is Over).
It's hard to be a huge fan of Christmas tunes when we get bombarded with them all through December, often in muzak form (urrrghhh!!) but some are good enough to still be loved.
John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War Is Over) is my personal mood setter.
The first thing I do upon waking every Christmas morning is to play that song full blast through my stereo system. It's been a personal Christmas tradition ever since I left home. It's kind of appropriate in these peace free times too.
As to what I want Santa to bring me, I had little idea until recently and would have just vaguely said books. But my mate Nick has a Nintendo Wii and now I want one too. Won't get one of course, even though I shout "Oy fattie, bring me a Wii" up my chimney three times a day.
