The Cribs, Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong, Does It Offend You, Yeah? and
The Ting Tings will all head to Liverpool University on Feb 7th, and are
all very excited...

Joe Lean
Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong are… ready to sing!

Have you met any of the other bands yet?
“I met Ryan from The Cribs after the NME Awards when he’d cut himself
open. He was bleeding when I met him. He had blood running down his leg,
so I helped him into the ambulance. It’ll be cool to catch up.
What drink would you bring to the party?
“I’d tank everyone up with some Black Russians. It’s a double shot of
vodka, double Kahlua and four ice cubes. No Coke though, that ruins it.
Will you join Ryan for a stage jump?
“Have you seen the size of me, mate? It’d end up with different people
walking out of the room with a limb souvenir each and another bloke with
my head. I’d prefer to stay alive!
Could you fit into a pair of Joe Lean’s jeans?
“I reckon I could. Coincidentally, I’m wearing a pair right now!
Who will cause the most mischief on tour?
“It’s got to be [JL&TJJJ bassist] Panda. He’s a trickster and a cool guy,
and definitely the cheekiest. Dom [O’Dare, guitar] is the biggest party
animal, though.
What will be your anthem?
“I guess ‘Lucio Starts Fires’, because that’s our only proper single so
far. Having said that I think only about 2000 people have heard it.
Hopefully by the end of the tour every song will be an anthem!
What’s the one thing you want on your rider?
“Twiglets! I love them. That taste! Or perhaps my own ’60s-style garage
club filled with loads of soul-steppers.

James Yeah?
DIOY,Y? are… going to make parents scared!
On last year’s tour Simon Klaxon and Lovefoxxx fell in love. Who’ll fall
in love this year?
“It anyone does it’ll be Dan, our keyboardist. He’s just like that, he
falls in love with any girl who shows him her tits. He’s a very needy –
but nice – person.
You guys are big party animals, right?
“When we decide to, we go in and party hard. On tour we usually party for
the first week, then it hits you and you’re screwed. You have to leave it
for a week. Then go for it again.
What drink will you bring to the party?
“Mojitos all the way. I seek them out and drink as many as I can.
Will you join Ryan for a stage-jump?
“We’ll have our own moshing action. When you’re in a band the whole point
of playing live is to make people go crazy and get the moshpit going. The
whole place is going to get really crazy.
Could you fit into a pair of Joe Lean’s jeans?
“Part of me could: my legs. And my arse. But the rest of me, forget it.
They’d have to let out some room in the crotch area, too.
Who will cause the most mischief on tour?
“Morgan [DIOY,Y? frontman], definitely. He likes to push peoples’ buttons.
Once he’s found their insecurities he pushes as much as he can. He’ll piss
people off, push them to the edge.

Jules De Martino, drums
The Ting Tings are… party arty!

On last year’s tour Simon Klaxon and Lovefoxxx fell in love. Who’ll fall
in love this year?
“Well, not like that, but I’m looking forward to The Cribs. They
have real aggression and it’ll be new for us to see that on stage. We’ve
toured with a lot of cheeky chappies but I think they could be interesting
when they get going.
DIOY,Y? Are big party animals – can you keep up?
“Yes, easily! It’ll be a walk in the park. We’re first on, so we get to
enjoy the whole evening.
What drink will you bring to the party?
“If we can get our hands on one, a Ting. It’s Jamaican drink – it’s not
what we’re named after, but someone sent us a picture of one – it looks
like Lilt. Mix it with vodka and you get a Ving.
Will you join Ryan for a stage-jump?
“Katie [White, guitar/vocals] will. We just played in Berlin and she did
that in her own way. We were mid-set and she wanted a drink so she parted
the audience so she could get to the bar. I think she made some friends on
the way.
Who will cause the most mischief on tour?
“It should be The Cribs, really, but who knows. We’ve had our moments!
We’re going to get up there and crack the whip, make it as high-energy as
possible. We’ve got some surprises planned.
Why shouldn’t we use your set as a toilet break?
“We’re first on. Go before you leave home.
