In today's review column we've got the latest from My American Heart, Amy Macdonald and Augie March. Read on and let me know your views...
My American Heart - Hiding Inside The Horrible Weather - Warcom
San Diego rockers My American Heart make the sort of bitingly
poignant music that runs through shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
It is hard, edgy, exquisitely hypnotic stuff, driven along by a wild
and howling guitar that fair takes your breath away. Larry Soliman’s
vocals have heartbreakingly beautiful quality, with a touch of the
Thom Yorke’s about them. Lovely.

AmyMacdonald L.A. - Vertigo
The Babe of Bishopbriggs, Scottish songstress Amy Macdonald, has made
a super single here, with her gorgeous strong, rich voice, and the
staunch support of her tight and talented band.
A simple, anthemic song, L.A. tells a story that will strike a chord
with anyone who has ever found themselves in a similar situation.

Augie March - Moo You Bloody Choir - Sony BMG
Augie March make music in a similar vein to fellow Antipodeans,
Crowded House. There is a sensitivity and intelligence running
through it that gives the tracks a sort of rare brilliance. This
richness perhaps means that ‘Moo You Bloody Choir is not instantly
accessible to everyone, as it takes the ears by surprise on the first
listen, and only offers up its full beauty subsequently, as the
layers of sound and meaning are revealed on multiple listens. Mind
you, it’s also pretty good on the very first listen…
