WITH performances from Echo and the Bunnymen, John Power, Little Man Tate and a host of local unsigned talent, Eclectica free festival promises to be the highlight of Merseyside's summer of sound.
The St Helens celebration of music, run by the council in association with Love Music, Hate Racism and the town’s Citadel Arts Centre, will take place next Saturday from 2pm.
Eclectica will show off some less well-known talent including Glasgow-based folk-rock band the Poems and local bands the Aclyrics, Giant Root Attack and the Lancashire Hotpots will kick off the event.
The official aftershow party at the Citadel promises to be legendary.
With a DJ set from Will Sergeant and exclusive performances from The Maybes? and The Loungs it will be a party not to be missed.
Over the last few years The Maybes? - don't forget the question mark - have become somewhat legends of the Merseyside music scene.
With their killer hooks and infectious enthusiasm the indie quintet are a must-see band for every Liverpool music fan.
St Helens lads The Loungs make wickedly funny catchy feel-good indie pop with a bright alternative feel.
Their tracks bounce along, in a slightly Housemartins sort of way, with superb harmonies and jolly tunes that belie the biting lyrics beneath.
