In Spin It or Bin It - the lowdown on the new releases from The Orange Lights, Cherry Ghost, My Chemical Romance and Garbage. Log on and let us know what you think.

The Orange Lights - Click Your Heels - Blackbird Records

Reviewed by Josh Green

Gently anthemic, the hook, ‘Love is what you want, love is what you need to set you free will be mouthed at venues across the land. Slightly Coldplay/Neil Young/Beatles mostly good old indie ballad. Super vocals, great instrumentation, a touching lyric and beautiful sound quality overall make this a lovely treat for the ears.

Cherry Ghost People - Help The People - EMI

Reviewed by Jessie Alison

Big piano based sound, smokey vocal and a song that feels like you already know it from the first time you hear it – in a good way! There’s nothing ground breaking here, but it is alright, and on balance, certainly better than average.

Garbage – Tell Me It Hurts - Warner Brothers

Reviewed by Grace Tiede

With Shirley Manson’s instantly recognisable and engaging angelicly emotional vocal, tight gritty instrumentation, and a heartfelt and interesting lyric, this one is a winner from the word go. This is the Garbage we know and love, passionately miserable, and always on their own terms, done in their own brilliant way. Consequently, this piece of glorious Garbage is not going in the bin…

My Chemical Romance - Teenagers - Reprise

Reviewed by Mouse

Oh no! What IS this?!!!
From the first three seconds I knew that I hated this! Absolutely diabolical, and not in a good way, not even in a Goth way, it’s just a horrible racket!
Terrible corny words about being a teenager that sound like they were written by somebody’s granny - and that’s an insult to grannys! It’s like a cross between Black Lace and Chas’n’Dave and Status Quo on their worst ever day. It’s not even funny!
I listened to it three times, just to make sure I was being fair, and it got worse and worse. The last time through was the final straw, and made me frisby it across the room when it popped out of my machine. It is deeply ironic that this blood boiler was released as part some sort of anti-violence campaign – if there was ever a song that would turn a crowd ugly, it’s this one!
