Once in a while a guilty pleasure comes along that I can write about freely in a family newspaper, and Cherry Ghost are just that.
Over the last few years The Maybes? have become somewhat legendary on the Merseyside music scene. With their killer hooks and infectious enthusiasm The Maybes? - don't forget the question mark - are a must-see band for every Liverpool music fan.
You know that old saying, the best things in life are free? Well one of my all-time favourite Merseyside musicians is bringing it to life in a wonderful way.
King of all things acoustic and former ECHO busker of the year Alun Parry is giving away his music freely, and if people like it they can make a donation. It's an idea inspired by his busking days, and I think it's fantastic...

After weeks of build up we can now proudly announce our second six of the best...
Here are six of our favourite unsigned local acts. Our reviewing team have picked the bands they love from widely different genres, which have very different sounds, but the thing that unites them is quality. They are all excellent musicians and songwriters, and we think they encapsulate the best of the Merseyside sound right now.
