Are you interested in making any kind of experimental music and want to share it with the world? Fancy laying your experimental sounds down for posterity? Surely that's an offer too good to refuse...
LOOSE is a not for profit Music Collective based in Halton, Merseyside, which has supported music-making for over ten years.
Thanks to a grant from Awards For All, they are bringing the joys of music to anyone who is into music but bored of the same old guitar-bass-drums set-up. Not that guitars are banned, or drums – but there is a whole world of sound out there, waiting to be discovered.
They have been putting on occasional nights of Wonky Music and Unusual Noise for some time, and now they are putting on four FREE events, plus a 12” compilation vinyl album of some of their best known performers which will be available from the gigs and from the website at the low low price of only £5. All proceeds go to fund future projects. www.loosemusic.org/classaaudio
And there’s more: anyone out there who is making any kind of interesting experimental music and wants to share it with the world can send in a CD of up to 3 tracks for inclusion on a Class A Audio compilation CD.
Post it asap to Loose, P.O. Box 67, Runcorn WA7 4NL and include any information you want plus a contact address and email. State if you are able to perform live and maybe you can play at one of the events later in the year. All interesting work is welcome for the CD whether or not it can be played live. All work will of course remain the property of the artist.
“Music brings people together," says organiser Jaki Florek. "We embrace all kinds of music made by people of all ages – and this is a great opportunity for people to access events that are guaranteed to be different – for free, and without travelling to Berlin or Brighton or London!”
DJ Your Favourite Muslim adds “We are just creative people checking out each other’s skills, and encouraging anyone who’s interested to participate in the things we do. Class A Audio events are inspired from touring in Europe, providing audiences with varied stimulating music and valuing the artists and audience equally. A good audience deserves good music, and vice versa, and then everyone is happy!”
Their first free event takes place on Saturday June 2 at Liverpool University Guild, Mount Pleasant, Liverpool. Doors open 8.30pm till 3am.
The line-up includes Gay Against You, Drumoorps, Tigers!, Housemouse, Phullopium Dude, Jambon, Demon Cabbage, Lup, Aaron Spectre.
