Klaxons preview

KLAXONS proudly hold the title of ones-to-watch in the UK at the moment. And now, the nu-rave masters (think punk meets disco) are set for even bigger things.
They’re at the forefront of the latest dance-music-it's-okay-for-indie-kids-to-like revolution. Ear-marked as rising stars, the band is set to play the Carling Academy next weekend.

Speaking about their different approach to music, Klaxons’ frontman Jamie Reynolds says: “Bring it on. I think it’s really exciting. We want to give the kids an absolute chance to totally enjoy themselves.
“Right now we've got 50,000 MySpace friends and they've all come to us. It's all about our fans. The tour is going to be carnage.
Expect hazy, spacey, infectious melodies, an exhilarating blast of rock, pop and wild electro.
Theirs is a sound born not in Berlin, New York or London, but hailing from the sleepy charms of Stratford-Upon-Avon (James Righton and Simon Taylor-Davis) and Bournemouth (Jamie Reynolds).
This has been the year that has seen them go from festival also-rans to posters-in-Woolworths, adverts-on-TV type fame. Their debut album, Myths of the Near Future, and single, Golden Skans, were released in January, and fans will be delighted to know that it's the first part of a three-album trilogy that will also deal with the past and the present. they headlined the NME indie rave tour.
The scene is a fairly incestuous one - the Klaxons used to share a house with Pull Tiger Tail and guitarist Simon Taylor-Davis is currently dating Lovefoxx from CSS.
Now word is that Lily Allen is in hot pursuit of bass player Jamie Reynolds.
Klaxons have unashamedly said from day one that they want to sell a million records. Keep on like this and they can’t be far away.
Klaxons at Carling Academy Liverpool, Saturday May 12. Tickets £10.50. For more information see www.myspace.com/klaxons.
