SixNationState burst onto the music scene this year with the cracking new single Where Are You Now, before kicking off a nationwide tour and wowing the crowds with a showcase at South by Southwest festival in Texas.
Having cemented legions of fans, and growing support from the likes of Radio 1 and Jonathon Ross on Radio 2, the band are all set to unleash their unique fiesta at Korova tonight.
They come to Liverpool fresh from recording their debut album in Latvia with Iain Gore (who also produced The Brakes, Larrikin Love and Babyshambles).
Great things are expected of these fellas - their record company, Jeepster, rarely sign new bands - their previous two signings were Snow Patrol and Belle & Sebastian.
They’re big fans of the Liverpool music scene, so much so that they saw the Wombats twice while they were playing in Texas last month.
Highlights tonight promise to be Fire - a fantastic mix of rock, punk and ska - Taking Me Over and the new single Where Are You Now.
The rest of the set is comprises good old-fashioned gritty rock - from the same stable as Oasis and Stone Roses. Virtuoso solos abound gloriously and bellowing choruses will send the crowd sky-high.
The Palominos will be bringing their own brand of retro-inspired rock to the party, and if their recent gigs have been anything to go by, tonight should be something special.
They describe themselves as British rock ‘n’ soul, burned through a Californian heat-haze and then tempered here and there by gentle Burritoesque country. We think they sound a bit like the early the Stones and Led Zeppelin - classic 70’s British rock with a Liverpool twist. We like them a lot.

We think it’s going to be an amazing night, so much so that the first five people through the door to say I Love the Echo will get in for free. Don’t say we never give you anything!
