If you like the whole Norah Jones thing then head down to the Living Room on Feb 6th, at 8pm. Louise Setara is playing a one-off gig, which promises to be something special. She's a new act on Parlophone, 18yrs old and signed to Manhattan/BlueNote in the States, although she's a member of the British travelling community.
This is what her record company say, but have a look, and a listen for yourself:
UK born and raised singer Louise is the latest British singer set to make waves on both sides of the Atlantic following her signing to the “Manhattan” arm of the legendary Blue Note label in the US. Along way to come for a Romany gypsy girl descended from Irish and Brazilian grandparents. An incredibly mature vocalist and still only 18 years of age, Louise’s life long passion for singing and performing drove her to turn a chance meeting with music manager Kwame Kwaten (former member of respected Brit Soul band D- Influence who has since worked with artists from Shola Ama to Jay Z) at a talent competition into a management contract at age 15.
Her debut album ‘Still Waters” is released on February 5th, and single “Wrong Again precedes it on January 29th. Following a her recent support slot playing with label-mate Beverley Knight, Louise will be playing a string of low-key gigs at the chain of Living Room venues her first headline venture.
